Man Accused of Hitting Woman With Gator

PORT ORANGE, Fla. (AP) - A man hit his girlfriend with a 3-foot alligator and threw beer bottles at her during an argument in the couple's mobile home, authorities said.

David Havenner, 41, was ordered held without bond Saturday on misdemeanor charges of battery and possession of an alligator.

The alligator, which Havenner had been keeping in his bathtub, was turned over to Florida wildlife officials.

Nancy Monico, 39, told investigators that Havenner beat her with his fists, then grabbed the alligator and swung it at her as she tried to escape, sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson said. She said the animal hit her at least once. She also told authorities that Havenner threw empty beer bottles at her, Davidson said.

Havenner's version of the story differed. He told investigators that Monico bit his hand because she was upset that they had run out of alcohol.

By the time you read this, you'll be older than you remember.

The official name for your liver spots is hyperpigmented lentigines. The official anatomy word for a wrinkle is rhytide. Those creases in the top half of your face, the rhytides plowed across your forehead and around your eyes, this is dynamic wrinkling, also called hyperfunctional facial lines, caused by the movement of underlying muscles. Most wrinkles in the lower half of the face are static rhytides, caused by sun and gravity.

Let's look in the mirror. Really look at your face. Look at your eyes, your mouth.

This is what you think you know best.

Your skin comes in three basic layers. What you can touch is the stratum corneum, a layer of flat, dead skin cells pushed up by the new cells under them. What you feel, that greasy feeling, is your acid mantle, the coating of oil and sweat that protects you from germs and fungus. Under that is your dermis. Below the dermis is a layer of fat. Below the fat are the muscles of your face.

Maybe you remember all this from art school, from Figure Anatomy 201. But then, maybe not.

When you pull up your upper lip--when you show that one top tooth, the one the museum guard broke--this is your levator labii superioris muscle at work. Your sneer muscle. Let's pretend you smell some old stale urine.

Imagine your husband's just killed himself in your family car. Imagine you have to go out and sponge his piss out of the driver's seat. Pretend you still have to drive this stinking rusted junk pile to work, with everyone watching, everyone knowing, because it's the only car you have.

Does any of this ring a bell?

When a normal person, some normal innocent person who sure as hell deserved a lot better, when she comes home from waiting tables all day and finds her husband suffocated in the family car, his bladder leaking, and she screams, this is simply her orbicularis oris stretched to the very limit.

That deep crease from each corner of your mouth to your nose is your nasolabial fold. Sometimes called your "sneer pocket." As you age, the little round cushion of fat inside your cheek, the official anatomy word is malar fat pad, it slides lower and lower until it comes to rest against your nasolabial fold--making your face a permanent sneer.

This is just a little refresher course. A little step-by-step.

Just a little brushing up. In case you don't recognize yourself.

Now frown. This is your triangularis muscle pulling down the corners of your orbicularis oris muscle.

Pretend you're a twelve-year-old girl who loved her father like crazy.

You're a little preteen girl who needs her dad more than ever before. Who counted on her father always to be there. Imagine you go to bed crying every night, your eyes clamped shut so hard they swell.

The "orange peel" texture of your chin, these "popply" bumps are caused by your mentalis muscle. Your "pouting" muscle. Those frown lines you see every morning, getting deeper, running from each corner of your mouth down to the edge of your chin, those are called marionette lines. The wrinkles between your eyebrows, they're glabellar furrows.

The way your swollen eyelids sag down is called ptosis. Your lateral canthal rhytides, your "crow's-feet," are worse every day and you're only twelve fucking years old for God's sake.

Don't pretend you don't know what this is about.

This is your face.

Now, smile--if you still can.

This is your zygomatic major muscle. Each contraction pulls your flesh apart the way tiebacks hold open the drapes in your living room window. The way cables pull aside a theater curtain, your every smile is an opening night. A premiere. You unveiling yourself.

Now, smile the way an elderly mother would when her only son kills himself. Smile and pat the hand of his wife and his preteen daughter and tell them not to worry--everything really will work out for the best. Just keep smiling and pin up your long gray hair. Go play bridge with your old lady friends. Powder your nose.

That huge horrible wad of fat you see hanging under your chin, your jowls, getting bigger and jigglier every day, that's submental fat. That crinkly ring of wrinkles around your neck is a platysmal band. The whole slow slide of your face, your chin and neck is caused by gravity dragging down on your superficial musculo-aponeurotic system.

Sound familiar?

If you're a little confused right now, relax. Don't worry. All you need to know is this is your face. This is what you think you know best.

Ung... I can't stick any photos in here for about 3 weeks. All my photos are on the home computer. Oh well, that means I have to put real content in here now. Actually, I don't know what qualifies as real, so maybe its fake content.

Today I played with mulch for a few hours. Then I came back to the huge dirty house I'm watching and sat in a water filled sled. I couldn't find any swimming pools in the garage so I had to subsitute. The dog, Doger, tried to eat my leg, pants, sketchbook, hair tie, and lotion (he ate the cap for the lotion). I had to fend him off with a water gun. fun fun.

I don't know if I said anything about this, but about 2 weeks ago my friends and I created a little chemical burn on each of our arms. To burn: Take some large grain salt and make a pile on your arm. Then find an icecube and press it firmly on the salted part of your arm. Keep it on until you have to peel the mostly melted ice cube off your skin. It feels like a shot. When the ice is off the salt looks like it melted to your arm, but all you have to do is wash it off. Next comes a horrible itchy feeling and the burn raises like a gigantic bug bite. Yum. The next day it turns into a raw burn type thing. Very Fight Club-esque...ENJOY!
My burn looks really ugly because it's peeling.

Today I cleaned the whole entire kitchen of the place i'm house sitting for. It was hella dirty. There were strange green plants growing in the fridge and little pieces of corn all over in the freezer. The walls were REALLY gross... caked in chuncks of food, grease, and dirt. Dog and cat fur clumps were all over the floor. The ceiling fan had dust hanging off of it. Yuck. Then I hosed down the deck and scraped off the dirt and algea. To top everything off I got to mow the huge lawn with an ancient manual push mower. I'm covered in dirt, dog saliva, sweat, and grass. How attractive. Va-va-voom!
I would give anything for caffiene NOT in coffee form right now(I resorted to coffee this morning.. Blehng). I think I may venture through the shady neighborhoods to the gas station with Jolt in it. I generally like Jolt, enough to risk getting raped for at least. Man... I need caffeine. UNNNNNNGGGHHGHG.... CAFFEINE.....

She thought it was probably a turtle. Or maybe just a piece of sea kelp. But curiosity got the better of her, and the boat headed toward it. Maggie got the surprise of her life: It was a kitten. A tiny, shivering, screeching apricot-colored kitten who was paddling for its very life, reports The Associated Press.

If you know anything about cats, you know that water and cats don't mix. They hate water. Just nine inches long, this little kitty was battling not only the waves to stay alive, but also its own innate fear of water. "We scooped him up, and he sat on the boat with me for eight hours," Rogers told AP. When she's not rescuing kitty-cats from the ocean, she works as the finance director at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. "He was exhausted and stressed," she added. "His heart rate was high."

No one knows how the kitten got into the Gulf of Mexico, but there were at least 40 boats in the area where he was found. A quick checkup by a veterinarian pronounced the 10-week-old, 1-pound kitten relatively healthy; other than worms, he was okay. He was adopted by Rogers' sister-in-law and appropriately named Nemo.

I'm watching this dog, Dodger, for 2 weeks. When I left to see a movie he was perfectly fine, 3 and a half hours later he was really weak and there was a pile of unknown matter on the floor (smelled like poo, but looked like vomit). He wouldn't eat his food, he wouldn't play, and he kept trying to vomit. I got really worried so my mom and I took him to the vet. Thats the first time I have ever been to a vet in my entire life. Kinda weird. All they could figure out was that he had a fever... the vet wasn't too worried though because Dodger was perky enough to kick him in the balls. lol. Anyways, I have to keep checking on him. I hope he's ok. it would be pretty horrible if his family had to hear bad news on their vacation.

I have not said anything in my journal for a very very very long time. That was probably before I graduated. Lets see... I failed algebra 3-4, but found out that I never needed it anyway and I graduated. Graduation is a long story. MY graduation was fun and relieving. However, an hour after I graduated, I had to get in the car for a 6 hour drive to my cousin's to his graduation the next day. Suprisingly when we got there were found out he was put in jail the night before. That is my cousin Brent. Now I have to take a break to explain another long story about my other cousin and Brent's twin brother Brian. Brent and Brian live in the number one crystal meth town of the US and keep getting caught up in the wrong things. At the time of this story, Brent was in Juvinile prison and Brian just got out of re-hab. This is how it goes, September 21st at 1:30 AM my 17 year old cousin Brian and his 3 friends got in a police chase while under the influence. They ended up crashing into a tree. Brian died instantly due to a broken neck and a blow to the head (he was driving w/o a seatbelt). The kid next to him will be a vegetable for the rest of his life. The boy sitting behind Brian lost an eye and had a bunch of facial lacerations. The last guy was pretty much okay physically. Anyways, my mom woke me up at 3 AM to tell me the news and to inform me that I had an hour to get packed. The whole week I was in Iowa was hell. It was my first funeral ever and I had to do half the planning (choosing the flower arrangements/casket/clothes for Brian to wear/etc). The first corpse I have ever seen was my cousin who I loved and grew up with. Brent got out of Juvi for the week luckily to say goodbye to his twin brother. That was probably one of the worst things I had to deal with this year. Back to the first story, Brent got out of Juvi in December and was doing fine up until the day before his own graduation. He broke into someone's house under the influence of drugs, got in a fight, stole something, and assaulted a police officer. Amazingly Brent was let out from 8 AM to 8 PM on the day of his graduation. There's a twist to the story though... Before Brian died he got his girlfriend pregnant. She decided to have the baby because he was gone and it was all she had left of him. After Brian died, Brent (Brian's IDENTICAL twin) and her started dating. Thats just kinda weird. For more drama, I found out a lot of things about my big brother that I never wanted to know.

Stuff like this tears me apart. Its hard to wake up when sleeping is my only relief from the drama.

More recently, i've been working out a lot. I got to a "spinning" class, which is hardcore cycleing. Its awesome and it makes me soooooo happy.

For the next 2 weeks i'm house sitting, then I get to go camping for a week. Hoorah.

Must get license soon... doom dooom dooooooooooom oh no!
